With the help of his wife Aya, he started producing steel forgings together with his brother Shozaburo Takashima. Although they sometimes had difficulties in management since the business did not get on track, they continued the business with a strong passion for steel. The first president, Hideji Takashima Kyoei Forging Shop 1947~ Kyoei Iron Ltd. (capital of 180,000 yen) is established.  After World War II, the forging shop was closed for some time. However, out of a desire to become involved in steelmaking, which was indispensable for postwar reconstruction, the brothers established Kyoei Iron Ltd., which produced hot rolled products in August 1947, and shifted the business to rerolling steel in December. This was the beginning of Kyoei Steel, which continues operating to this day.  1948  The name of the company is changed to KYOEI STEEL LTD. (Capital of 3 million yen.) 1950~ 1956  Kyoei Rerolling Steel Ltd. (the name changes to Kyoei Special Steel Ltd. in December 1963) is established. The company begins the production of flat bars. 1960~ 1962  Tsukuda Mill (now Osaka Mill of Hirakata Division) is established as KYOEI STEEL’s first electric furnace mill.   1966  Kyoei Special Steel Ltd. is merged and becomes a discharge mill for KYOEI STEEL (which closes in March 1989).   1968  Overseas Department is established to provide technical training on steelmaking and rolling overseas. 1970~ 1971  Hirakata Electric Furnace Mill is established in Hirakata City, Osaka.   1972  A new rolling mill is established in Hirakata City, Osaka, completing an integrated system of steelmaking and rolling (now Hirakata Mill of Hirakata Division). Yamaguchi Kyoei Industries Ltd. (now Yamaguchi Division) is established in Onoda City (now Sanyo Onoda City), Yamaguchi Prefecture.  Kumamoto Kyoei Industries Ltd. is established in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture for the production and sale of rebars and marchant bars.   1973  With the objective of entering the minimill business in North America and expanding the business overseas, Auburn Steel Co., Inc. is established in New York State in the U.S. for the production and sale of rebars and marchant bars. 1979  The management right for Auburn Steel Co., Inc. is transferred.  1980~ 1982  KYOEI STEEL forms a capital tie-up with Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., increasing the capital to 100 million yen.   1984 KYOEI STEEL acquires the management right for Daiichi Steel Ltd. (now KYOEI STEEL Nagoya Division) to reinforce the business base in the Chubu area.   1988 Wakayama Kyoei Steel Ltd. (now NIPPON STEEL STRUCTURAL SHAPES CORPORATION) is established to expand into the field of junior H-beams. 1990~ 1990  KYOEI STEEL LTD., Kyoei Iron Ltd., Yamaguchi Kyoei Industries Ltd., Daiichi Steel Ltd., and Wakayama Kyoei Steel Ltd. merge and become five KYOEI Group companies. Kyoei Iron Ltd., Yamaguchi Kyoei Industries Ltd., Daiichi Steel Ltd., and Wakayama Kyoei Steel Ltd. are reorganized and become the Osaka Division, Yamaguchi Division, Nagoya Division, and Wakayama Division respectively. As a result of the merger, the capital is increased to 140 million yen.   1991 Kyoei Steel Ltd. (now NIPPON STEEL STRUCTURAL SHAPES CORPORATION) is established.   1992 With the objective of expanding the business in North America, KYOEI STEEL acquires the management right for Florida Steel (later changes its name to Ameristeel) in Florida, U.S.A. 1994  Vina Kyoei Steel Ltd. is established as a production base of steel bars and wire rods in Vietnam.   1996 Vina-Japan Engineering Ltd. (a foundry) is established in Vietnam. 2000~ 2002  KYOEI STEEL becomes one of the two largest shareholders of Nakayama Steel Products Co., Ltd., alongside Godo Steel, Ltd.   2004 Kyoei Recycling Co., Ltd. is established in Onoda City (now Sanyo Onoda City) in Yamaguchi Prefecture, with the objective of expanding the industrial waste treatment business. 2006 KYOEI STEEL is listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the First Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange.  2010~ 2011  Kyoei Steel Vietnam Co., Ltd is established in Vietnam. The company starts the steel business. 2014  Sakai Recycling Center, Inc. is established. 2015  A melting shop and Second rolling Mill is established in Vina Kyoei Steel Ltd. 2016  Osaka Mill of Hirakata Division is closed.   Kyoei Steel acquires all equity of BD Vinton LLC in Texas, U.S., and makes it a consolidated subsidiary (renamed Vinton Steel LLC). 2018  Port facilities of Thi Vai International Port Company Ltd. (TVP), located in Southern Vietnam, is completed and starts operations.   Kyoei Steel acquires the business of Yodoshi Corporation (Kawachinagano City, Osaka Prefecture), and makes it a subsidiary.   Kyoei Steel makes Vietnam Italy Steel JSC a consolidated subsidiary. VIS 2020~ 2020  Kyoei Steel acquires all shares of AltaSteel Inc. in Alberta Province, Canada, and makes it a consolidated subsidiary.
